Nurturing Relationships Series
What to expect?
While relationships are essential to our survival and well-being, modern society does not provide us the skills to form, nurture, and maintain deep, authentic relationships – begining from childhood. “Normal” relationships are conditional, transactional, and fragmented. We mask our true selves behind scripted dialogue and polite talk. But inside we yearn to be seen & heard, accepted & understood.
Here, you will begin an open-ended journey into learning the knowledge & practicing skills that nurture authentic relationships with each other, yourselves, and within members of your circle of influence.
This is done within the framework of a 2-hour workshop followed by 1 – 2 month-long mentorships within a study group. This work necessarily needs to be done within community because we learn and heal within relationships.
You may feel hesitant to consider learning all these skills and/or consider the long-term commitment. So I invite you to simply start with the first workshop and see how it works for you. And while it may be challenging at times, it will be equally rewarding. There is nothing to compare to the gift of authentic relationship
There are three workshops in this series (click links for more details):
1. Deep Listening begins with the practice of listening with the heart instead of the mind.
2. Honest Expression cultivates skills of authentic sharing that enhances respect which in turn fosters trust and loving connection.
(Prerequisite: Deep Listening)
3. Repairing Rupture: happens with respectful correction that includes naming the harm, acknowledging the harm done, and repairing the harm through changed behaviour and sincere apologies.
(Prerequisite: Honest Expression)

Feedback
How was beneficial? Learning to hear and feel with out opinions or response. Learning to respond with out advice or judgment and learning to just coexist and be comfortable around people I believed where strangers…. who are actually my brothers and sisters in this world.
What did you find challenging? Unfortunately, Being able to find time to attend the workshop activities was a little challenging but honestly, I feel like I should have put more effort because it is worth it and attending an incomplete workshop has been of value to me. An investment in oneself is always of value.
